What the hell?  I can't find any mention of Exit 155P (on the Garden State Parkway) anywhere on this board.  I would have thought this would have been referenced in all of the "Exit 15X is weird" discussion.  Why is it P?  For Patterson?  Or is this a Mario game?

As far as anyone knows, it's for Poo.

155 Politics would be a more accurate answer than the correct answer to the OP's point.

Although the Parkway is moving toward proper exit numbering (Exits 82-82A becoming 82A-82B, for example), I know nothing of the fate of 155P. To be consistent, it ought to be 155A, and Hazel Ave. should go from 155 to 155B.

There's an exit 9P on the Grand Central Parkway, and I'm pretty sure it stands for "park."

Originally all the exits on the Paterson Peripheral (NJ-19) were going to continue the Parkway's exit numbering, but with the "P" suffix. Now with the GSP having a planned control city of Paterson, that exit takes greater importance, even though the highway (and everyone on it) doesn't go to that city.

They're going to use Paterson for a northbound destination? North of Newark I assume? Well, the Parkway passes right by Paterson which is probably the biggest city in northern NJ. Alternatives might be Paramus or Mahwah.

The control cities were in the updated Turnpike docs when they decided to go MUTCD.

I always thought Clifton or Paramus would work given the major highway junctions contained within. They are also existing NJDOT control cities. Speaking of, I wonder if NJDOT will start signing Parkway and Turnpike exits of their roads with the control cities.

No.  Newark is a lot bigger, both in terms of square mileage and population.
