I saw BUS 1B in Trenton when I first looked. Also saw BYPASS 206 in Hillsborough, which is correct. And BYPASS 1 for TRUCK 1 in Newark. Ironing out the kinks, I suppose.

The banners don't seem to be showing up for me.  Google must be playing favorites with users again.

It's the same logged in and not.  Even connecting via Tor doesn't show the banners (now that I've thought to check).

They're not showing up for me either. I tried both IE (not logged in) and Chrome (logged in).

I saw the banners on Sunday at my parents' house but now at home they're gone. Favorites indeed.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

Nope, none here either, whether on classic or new-fangled version.

That's wierd, does it show up here? Here's US 1 Business in Trenton...

(Side note, I swear that said 'US 18' when I first looked at it, then I realized it was a B)

The US 206 bypass: (no shield here)

I can't find the US 1 truck Bypass. Anyone know where in Newark? Or is it closer to Jersey City?

Have you tried viewing an area you don't normally look at? The browser could be caching tiles if you're viewing the same area that you viewed recently.

It should say BYP 1, not 1B.

And I have looked at US 1 Bypass in New Hampshire several times, and it still worked.

Edit: It's NOT working for me anymore.

I think they had it for a day and then removed it.

Why would it say Bypass 1 when it's a business route?

And yeah, the banners are definitely gone now.

I saw the word "bypass" further down the post and thought that was it.

Oh. You probably mixed up US 1 Business in Trenton and US 1 Bypass Truck in Newark. The second, I cannot find whatsoever.

It seems like they're still Beta-ing and accidentally released.

Speaking of the new google maps, every time I open google maps I get the message "... with the new google maps, coming to your desktop soon".  I sure hope they aren't getting rid of the current maps!  Everything I've read about the new google maps indicates that it's STILL less capable than the current version.

Plus my computers can't do WebGL either thanks to poor linux graphics drivers.

I'm going to CRY if they remove the old maps. The new maps is clunky, much less faster, and generally half the time the placenames vanish leaving just lines with no indication of what is what. They better keep the old maps - it works so much smoother.

They may reappear soon for good. Once I came across a bunch of Chinese expressways that weren't before, then they disappeared, some days later they reappeared and they have remained there since then. Even weirder was you could make a route on those "ghost" expressways.

I don't think they will anytime soon. I have Firefox 15 and IE 9 at work, both of which don't support the new version. They'd alienate a large user base if they did that (i.e. those who don't do much maintenance and s/w upgrades on their computer.)

Mr. Matté

How often does the basemap get fully updated? I noticed that during the brief time the banners appeared, some updates that I submitted (mostly the addition of county route designations in Mercer Co., NJ) also appeared. Now since they undid their updated edition, my changes disappeared.

I've been seeing the "BYP" banner along with US 64B around Pulaski, TN, but today using the new Google Maps and Chrome, I'm not seeing the banners appear at all.

This also brings up an interesting question. Will Google try to match what's signed in the field with what is displayed on their maps? For example, Tennessee tends to just refer to alternate routes as US 31A instead of Alt US 31, while Alabama does Alternate US 72. Similarly, Arkansas does US 64B instead of Business or BUS US 64.
