Seems quite a few have "left the building" this week.  Very sad to lose Bob Newhart, but he had a long career and life--and undoubtedly one of the best TV show finales, ever.

I grew up on Newhart in the 80s. Bob Newhart to me is one of the funniest people ever.

Much like Leslie Neilsen's passing, I imagine many of us are remembering the many ways Bob Newhart made us laugh and that's possibly one of the greatest legacies a person could ever have.

Both the M.A.S.H. and Newhart theme songs both make me feel sleepy. They were the shows that came on after the 10pm news when I was a kid. I'd normally stay up to watch the sports and as soon as I'd hear the theme song, I'd either head to bed or pass out on my mom's lap on the couch.

The first two seasons of the Bob Newhart Show had a good opening sequence. Upbeat up until Bob sits down on the train to go home, then it mellows out.

The beginning of the sequence had the old phone bell ringer on it when the phone rang which I like since nowadays phones are electronic.

Meanwhile, I remember him as Judson (The Librarian) and Professor Proton (The Big Bang Theory).
