The number of bots seems to be down from about 5000 to (exactly when I checked) 666.

Unfortunately, in-topic search still isn't fixed.

There does seem to be an often-asked for feature now: "Not Following". I haven't tried it yet, but as described, it says that it will remove it from "unread replies".

It didn't crash. The moderators said why they were taking it down. If you're ungrateful enough to complain that a free forum they're under no obligation to provide was unavailable due to maintenance, it certainly says something about you.

I mean, I thought it was annoying too, but saying so in a forum post is kind of like griping about the way your wife does the laundry when you don't even know how to operate the laundry machines yourself—except it isn't even your wife, but rather a neighbor from five houses down who long ago offered to take your laundry and do it for you for free every Friday night while you sleep out of the goodness of her heart.

And I'm sure it was a LOT more annoying for Alex.

There are lots of other road groups out there in realm of social media.  Trouble is that most will require you actually stay the on topic of roads.

I had a colonoscopy yesterday (results indicated no concerns).  The prep mainly involved using Miralax, mixed with Gatorade.  A full 8-ounce bottle of Miralax says it's 14 doses, but as colonoscopy prep you take the whole thing as 2 doses, each spread over an hour or so, first the evening before and second the morning of the procedure, several hours before.  I've had annoying long waits with some other laxatives (Dulcolax), but the results with the Miralax were...impressive.  I mean, inside of an hour, even before I had finished that full first dose, whoosh.  If seven doses at once is safe and that effective, I'd think maybe three doses would work pretty well in ordinary usage, so I'll give that a try next time I have the need.

So, they change the rules for the "Manifest V3 framework" to disallow the adblockers. I ended up setting up an Adguard DNS server on my network so all devices which use DHCP go through that server. Now I get messages stating "Disable Your Adblocker extension", and I'm like "What adblocker extension?"

The normalization of calling people "associates" instead of "employees" is bizarre to me.  I'm currently on the phone holding for an alarm tech and the automated message keeps referring to them as "service associates."  Does this mean that I'll be talking to a tech who also owns stock in the alarm company?

JoAnn Fabrics calls their own employees "team members", and one of the customer-facing signs says "ask a Team Member for help" or something similar, but the doors say "employees only", not "team members only" — vendors are employees but not team members.

You want annoying? My formative restaurant that I worked at in my 20's calls managers 'coaches' and employees 'champions', because they have an intense desire to be the best. I can only imagine how auto-fellating these branding meetings are. That said, my fantasy football league with a lot of the guys I used to work with is still called "We Are The Champions".
