Supposed to get some graupel tonight, but not much accumulation if any. Back up to 70 by the weekend.

Spring started last week in Kitchener while I was away in Alberta. Before leaving, there was lots of snow, almost always overcast, and generally below zero. Since coming back, it's been sunny with highs above zero and lots of snow has melted (I can see grass)!

Today is again sunny and a high of 7C (44F), which will feel very warm after this winter. Even more impressive, Friday and Saturday could reach 16-17C (61-63F)!

Edit: Environment Canada says it's currently 11C (51F) as of 4pm

High of 72 today and near 70 for most of the rest of the week. Looks like Spring is on the way (and then we get some snow on Friday).

This was all issued today for the DFW area:
With the high winds, I'm wondering if a haboob will occur today as it did last week.

60 mph gusts today, only a high of 50 (low for us lately) and a chance for some flurries later. We're in that time in Denver where we get three different seasons in the span of a week.

High winds here too.  Sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph, gusts up to 65 mph.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and 15C (59F). Tomorrow could reach 19C (66F) with a chance of showers and even a thunderstorm! It's like an early taste of summer. :D

Snow has been falling on and off all day.  At 28°F it's powdery and blowing all over the place in gusty winds.

For the most part the ski areas around Lake Tahoe are running around 75% to 90% of season-to-date average snowfall.  There are a few more storms lined up for the next week or so, at least one of them should deliver similar to what we've had the last couple days, so those numbers could edge up to more like 85%-100%.  The Sierra snowpack generally peaks about April 1 so we can start to say with some confidence that this year's final totals will be a little below average, but it's definitely not a "drought year".

Oklahoma looked more like California on Friday...

Wind gusts over 50 mph and dry grass are not a good combination for wildfires.

Red Flag advisories persist in South Texas as sunny, breezy, and dry conditions continue to be present as the ingredients required for fire danger.  No rain anticipated in the forecast (along with fairly warm temperatures) may even force us into mandated restrictions on water usage.  Although the danger has gradually reduced with cooler highs than last week and dew points nearing 60 degrees, the constant winds from Mexico continues to be a factor.  Almost the entire RGV area saw triple-digits for the first time this year on this past weekend, but temperatures are expected to taper off closer to normal for mid-March; right now temperatures are still as much as 8 degrees above average in several locations for this time of the year.

Currently 19C (65F) and sunny! It's my first time this year working at home with the window open. Tomorrow will start cooling down again and by Saturday, highs will be down to 2-3C (36-37F).

kphoger

Yesterday's high:  76°F.

There are currently snow flurries blowing around out there.

I'm very skinny.  90°F is even borderline for me to be shivering when I get out.  Anything below that, and I'd rather use the nearby hot tub instead.

The water was a little bracing, but, well, the palm fronds weren't going to get themselves out of the pool, so...

Since my pool has a hot tub, I can also theoretically heat the main pool with the heater, but that seems like an extravagancy I probably can't afford. The pool is about 9800 gallons and that's a lot of thermal mass. Since the hot tub waterfalls into the pool, any time we use it, the pool gains a degree or two in temperature the next day.

Of course, in a few months we'll have daily air temperatures north of 110°, so the notion of the pool needing to be heated will seem downright silly. We may end up with two hot tubs!

Curious on what image generator that is to get modern weather in the old school TWC local forecast.
