NY 17/"I-86"

http://www.nysdot.gov/haleeddy no longer works. Are the project plans posted somewhere? They indicated a preferred alternative.

I've also been wondering if there are any current plans/alternatives for Hale Eddy. I know I saw some at one point, but they were from links upthread that are no longer working.

The NYSDOT Freight Plan Implementation Plan has a few more in the medium/long-term projects table (the ones that aren't funded at this time).  If all of those got done (in however many decades), it would finish I-86 from Hancock east.  I wonder if the NY 17 over Susquehanna River bridge project would take care of whatever is needed between exits 67 and 71.

I see something quite interesting unrelated to Route 17.... "Mid-Hudson Reconstruction and Capacity Improvements from MP
18.0 to 24.0 $300,000,000 NYSTA" . Is the NYSTA widening the thruway betwween Nyack and the Garden State Parkway connector?

Significant bump here and also off-topic, but wow, that is an interesting find, and it does track with a potential widening from the lane drop in Nyack to the GSP, which is sorely needed. Has anyone heard anything more on this?

Also of note in the illustrative (unfunded) projects section:
*I-84 Third Lane from Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to NY Thruway, I-87
*Irondequoit Bay Bridge Replacement (first I've ever heard that mentioned in any official capacity)
*Route 404 Infrastructure Hardening (whatever that means)

I'm personally hoping for whatever project needs to be done between exits 67 and 71 - the only thing preventing I-86 from being unified through Binghamton.

Didn't they mention some work between the Tioga County line and Binghamton City line involving deficiencies at one point like you also mention on your nysroads website (Even though the section between the Tioga County line and exit 67 is I-86 officially).

Yep.  That was a list based off of publicly available information...but it was ages ago and I think even a couple of the projects were completed.

Well, funding for one.  FHWA requirements for another.  And finally, FHWA being gutted by the current administration (NY Division was cut down to 17 people from 42).
