I think the forum member I enraged the most was short-time member RoadRage2023. I'm still certain he was a sockpuppet of Mike2357/MultiMillionMiler/SafeSpeeder. His posts were almost verbatim copies of the things Mike2357 used to post, so I tried to bait him into acknowledging that he was a sockpuppet by doctoring quote tags to see whether he would take credit for what I was quoting.

Didn't work, but he wasn't around much longer after the exchange in question, either, so in a sense I guess it did work.

I don't know about this forum, but recently I remembered that I got in a huge battle with one of the MTR regulars about 20 years ago. He provoked it, and he earned the response he got.

Or, as John Houseman used to say, he eeeeeaaaaarrrrrnnned it!

I wonder if that was me.  I know I crossed someone else on MTR who's here now, in early January 2002.  (I was irritable that week, in part because no one in Wake County, NC knew how to deal with twenty or so inches of snow - just like two winters earlier.)

Correct.  Because, if there's one absolute rule on this forum, it's that any thread with "How many ... have you ..." as its title needs someone to keep score.  Everything is a competition.

I'm a little scared to point it out because someone might do it, but so far nobody's had the time or desire to do this for the umpteen river crossing threads, which I think is for the better.
