Any info on whether the old route will remain a state highway? Utah doesn't seem to do business loops on state routes, but does have a few anomalous route number duplications in some places.

No, the plan is to relocate 17 to the bypass and transfer the old alignment to the city.

Yep, I recall reading an article stating that the bypass will come under state jurisdiction (SR-17) with the old route going to the city.

On a side note, I wish UDOT would work something out for those anomalous duplicate route branches, as the mileposts can get really janky on some of those. I'm not one to recommend throwing around a pile of route numbers like New Mexico, but it might be the best option for those situations. Either that, or just make ALT/SPUR/LOOP banners official.

Looks like UDOT is getting US 6 some improvements east of Spanish Fork.

EDIT- Looks like Legacy Parkway/Highway (SR 67) will be getting a 3rd lane each direction, starting next year, in preparation for the I-15 rebuild between SLC and Farmington.
