Some discussion in the dislike thread made me think about sleep habits and how I should really get more sleep each night than I do.  So - how much sleep do the members of the forum get?  My alarm goes off at 5:45 for work, so I really should be going to be by 10, but in practice I aim for 11, and it's often more like 11:30 and sometimes even midnight.  On the weekends, I'm usually going to bed around midnight (assuming I don't relax my willpower too much and get caught in a rabbit hole online) and get up later - usually 9-11 on Saturday (depending on how tired I am and what I need to do) and 8 on Sunday.  That said, it feels like it's been getting harder to sleep in during the past couple of years.  I can't imagine my sleep deprivation does me any favors when it comes to actually doing things over the weekends.

I pretty consistently go to bed at 10 PM unless an event goes later. I wake up any time between 6 AM and 8 AM, not always consistently.

Usually 6.25-6.5 hours.  I have a hard time staying asleep longer.

If I'm running I usually get up between 4:30-5:00 AM depending on the distance.  I generally go to sleep between 9:30-10 PM.  Sometimes I'll go earlier if my wife is watching something dull.

Roadgeekteen

I set aside 8-9 hours to sleep but usually end up getting like 7 because I wake up a lot in the middle of the night.

I'm asleep by 10 almost every night and I'll wake by about 6:30, alarm be damned.

I have no set schedule (other than needing to be awake at 6-7pm for D&D on Tuesday and Friday) so I get as much sleep as my body decides I need that day, which seems to vary between 7 and 9 hours.

I usually aim for 8 hours a night (10:30 PM - 6:30 AM is my goal most nights), but I usually go to bed a little later than I want because of college things (studying, hanging out w/ friends, relaxing, etc.). Waking up is usually a struggle for me, but I am out like a light most nights (I actually experimented with that recently. I have a Fitbit and I looked at how much time it took me to fall asleep, and it indicated about 6 minutes).

I have never tried Work From Montana. I suppose I could give it a shot sometime.

I'm not voting, because the only two options with a range are "5 hours or less" and "9 hours or more".  The amount of sleep I get is not a whole number of hours, so forget the poll.

My wife and I typically get about 7¼ to 7¾ hours of sleep.  Generally 10:15–10:45 pm to 6:00 am.

I generally try to get around 8 hours. I get up at 7:00 because I telecommute and I start work at 8:00, so that means I try to turn in between 10:30 and 11:00 most nights, subject to variance for things like late sporting events either on TV or live. Some nights my wife insists on watching the 11:00 news on the master bedroom TV after I turn in; whether that affects my sleep largely depends on how tired I am.

I think rounding can be assumed; I thought about making them ranges, but it seemed like I'd lose an option (the first would have had to be less than 6 or the last more than 8; in hindsight, that might have actually worked).

Sure you can, just go to bed and prioritize your own physical health.

Unless its a Packer game, or a playoff game of any other team I follow, I'm not setting my schedule around live sports.

I mean the games don't end that late. If I work a 9-5 it's fine going to bed from 11-12. But I'm young so maybe that will change.
