Can we have the moderators clean up the following threads:
If the moderators review the latest message, they will find that they have gone badly off-topic.

QuotePosting in a topic that someone broke such-and-such rule. This isn't necessary. Please use the "report a post" feature.

Technically, this post breaks the rules as well. At some point, I feel like the forum would almost be better having a dedicated political dump thread or board that anyone not interested can ignore and would prevent politics from bleeding into other random threads. For example, the Charlie Kirk thread was locked and then in another thread it was talked about for like 4 more pages.

The problem is that there is a cool-down timer of 60 seconds between each post, and there is a high number of posts that need to be cleared out. I understand the strong feeling of the poster, but still...

Just report one of the posts in the series and the mods will take a look at it. The mods are smart enough to read the threads. Although the discussions in both seems to have both teetered out. And threads get off topic on this forum all the time, it's nothing new. Sometimes the mods will do something about it, sometimes it fixes itself on it's own.

Scott is participating in one of the conversations.  If he saw a problem I'm sure it would have been addressed.  Kyle asked for stop the conversation anyways because it was too off topic from books.

Yes, there is no need to create a new thread to backseat mod. We have mods that have been modding for 16 years we are good.

You don't need to report every single post in a thread; it's not like we're just going to read the one reported post and not the rest of the thread. We're not that dumb...

One report per thread will do. If a problem flares up after a mod addresses it, then you can report the new flare-up as needed.

I had no idea the post timer was increased from 15 seconds to 60. I first encountered it in 2023 when I had two windows open and hit Submit for both a few seconds apart, despite joining the forum all the way back in 2014. Then there was the false positive issue that was happening for a while (caused by someone else posting within the last 15 seconds, although it didn't always happen).

Is it actually at 60 seconds now? Or is there a separate timer for reporting posts?

Looks fine to me, I could post within 60 seconds. (I couldn't manage to post back-to-back within 15 seconds and still do the requisite arm movements.)

I would assume the 60-second timer ZLoth is talking about is for reports, not regular posts.

I like to report this thread for being overly hyper pedantic.

You know the moderators have brains and can read your comment that says "all these posts are bad and break the rules"

No way to change the string without editing the code directly, so it would just get reverted next time we did an update.

Can you report another users report? Just wondering.

Can you report a user? Not one of their posts, just deciding that you don't like them anymore, and just deciding to report them?
