Of course we all know that interchanges have things like loop ramps, where you turn right in order to make a left-turn movement to another highway. But sometimes, you need to turn left in order to go right, when a short directional ramp could've been used for the same movement. Here are three examples - the first two are over 4km which means about 4 extra minutes of driving. The third interestingly has a direct ramp for the express lane but not general purpose lanes.

Not that complicated, but EB Main St to Memorial Drive in Cambridge, MA infamously requires a left-to-go-right movement.

I don't see that. The last turn off EB Main before the bridge is a hairpin right onto the beginning of WB Mem Dr.

I think it was a typo: the stated movement doesn't require a left, but Memorial Drive to Main St. does.

That makes sense. Of course, technically, it's a left at the split to stay on Mem Dr, because right at the split is Land Blvd. So it's just a right turn from the end of Mem Dr onto the bridge.

I am not sure what drivers do to legally turn right on Califonia Incline from North bound PCH.  I guess that locals do not need this.

In this example, from CT 3 NB, one must back-track one exit north on I-91, turn left under the underpass, then left onto the Marsh St. onramp, to use I-91 SB.

Yeah, that's not exactly what I was thinking of for the post, since it doesn't take much more distance than it would if it was a direct right turn. Examples where you keep left to turn right are pretty common, like 905 WB to I-5NB in San Diego. https://www.google.com/maps/@32.5663628,-117.0716165,718m/data=!3m1!1e3

Well the loop to enter I-90 is a 270° right-turn so that could be considered a left.
And I found this one that's almost exactly the same movement. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/42.5159987,-71.0019394/42.519994,-70.9927641/@42.5184916,-70.9999267,1249m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0

They petition their city councillor. Or just make the turn at 4am when no one's looking.
