The federal government needs to mandate what new standard feature in all new cars?

All cars will be a full Faraday cage, so cell phone reception inside them will be impossible.

This thread is seeking the worst possible answer. You just gave the best answer.

Exterior cameras on all four sides: Not only in the back, but in the front, and on the left and right as well.
And interior cameras so Big Brother can watch you.
Sadly, this one is real.

The car honks whenever you make an unsafe maneuver.

The car honks long and loudly whenever it sees someone else do something unsafe or questionable (even if it's not), especially if committed in a flat state.

Why did NYC enact their Congestion Pricing plan?

They thought vdeane might pop south for a visit and saw the chance to make some money:

Quote from: vdeane on October 15, 2025, 08:36:38 PMThis very, very nasty stuffy nose I've had the last several days.  No idea what's caused it, but it's the worst I've ever had in my life.  During the evening and at night, I'm 100% blocked, can't breathe at all through either nostril.  The only thing that works is Afrin, which is a problem because Afrin shouldn't be used more than three days because of the risk of rebound congestion.  And breathing through my mouth requires me to consciously think about it, so I can't sleep that way.

I've tried literally everything to find a way to control it other than Afrin (since I've passed the three day mark and it's showing no sign of ending).  I've tried Ibuprofin.  I've tried Sudafed PM.  I've done consultations at CVS twice to try to find something.  I've tried Claritin.  Just now I've taken the CVS version of Flonaise.  Nothing works in the slightest.  What can I do?  I don't think I'm going to get a single minute of sleep tonight - not unless I use the Afrin again and risk rebound congestion.

It's the latest measure in the "keep New Jerseyans on their side of the Hudson" plan. If it doesn't work, future steps will include terminating all New Jersey Transit lines in Hoboken and luring the subway rats into the inbound lanes of the Lincoln Tunnel, Pied Piper style.

10/25/2025: Why does Maryland have so many unsigned state highways?

GaryV

Quote from: TheCatalyst31 on October 25, 2025, 02:30:22 PM10/25/2025: Why does Maryland have so many unsigned state highways?

Because the state is so large that they are worried about running out of numbers if they signed them all.

The PCs at MDOT have the state flag as the desktop background. To the engineer working on the state route backlog, this resembles the pattern of a cracked LCD screen on the family TV after she accidentally threw a Wii controller at it. It is triggering.
