The first Tule Fog of the year was this morning in Fresno.  Broke up pretty quickly once the sun was up.

36° and sunny when I woke up this morning. Definitely jeans and a sweatshirt weather (yesterday I was wearing shorts and I was barefoot, but I wound up putting on a pair of socks when my feet got cold). Supposed to go to 59°. We haven't had to turn on the heat yet. It was 66° in the house when I got up this morning, so I won't be surprised if we wind up turning on the heat this weekend if Friday night is similar to last night. Our cat doesn't seem to care; she's happy to lie in her tower as the sun shines in the window.

Edited to add: I got cold by 10:30 this morning, so I turned on the heat. I had hoped to make it to November before doing that.

Showers and very windy.  Glad I don't have to drive with the risk of fallen trees or blowing garbage so high.

30 and sunny. First frost of the fall.

jgb191

The cold front really hit us hard....we go from heat index of 100 degrees to overnight lows in the 50s.  November 8th was before the cold front, and now November 9th is after the cold front; though today's highs are right around normal for November, the lows are winter-like for us.  And this roller coaster-like shift in temperatures will be like this for the next several months until Spring begins.

                                    11/8 ACTUAL            11/9 ACTUAL                     AVERAGE
BROWNSVILLE:          95 high; 68 low           80 high; 58 low                82 high; 63 low
CORPUS CHRISTI:      93 high; 70 low           79 high; 52 low                80 high; 60 low
LAREDO:                  101 high; 64 low           77  high; 47 low               79 high; 58 low
MCALLEN:                 97 high; 66 low            81 high; 55 low                83 high; 64 low

It definitely felt like winter today. Didn't get out of the 50s all day with a gusty north wind, but at least it was sunny. We'll get a frost tonight and maybe even our first hard freeze if the wind dies down. Our average first freeze is Nov. 22, and we didn't get our first one last year until well into December.

Then by Wednesday we'll be right back into the 80s, with a chance of storms next weekend.

Saturday was warm, around 70°. I wound up getting out a pair of shorts after I had put most of those away for the season. Yesterday was overcast and somewhat gloomy (prior to nighttime rain) but still reasonably warm. As I type this at 11:18 Monday morning, it's 47° and sunny, but it's also windy—windchill is 39°. The forecast for tomorrow morning is for it to feel like 19° at 7:00 when I get up. Almost certainly going to have our first hard freeze of the season tonight. But on Wednesday it's supposed to be back up into the upper 50s.

29F feels like 14. Will have 20mph winds with gusts near 40 later today. I don't know how I'm going to survive the winter.

I have the day off, so I slept in. As of 8:30, my iPad says the windchill is 16°.

I see our relatives in Broward County, Florida, have a 49° temperature with 38° windchill and that our other relatives in Fort Myers have somewhat colder weather than that. I asked them to send me pictures of any frozen iguanas they may see.

My brother in New Orleans is not happy because it's 38° and his house is not heated. I kind of view it as his mistake for renting a house with no heat.
