Here's an old conspiracy theory that I've mentioned before.

My first encounter with a ticketed toll road was in 1991 on the Kansas Turnpike. That was well before the days of the Internet, where conspiracy theories were more easily spread, but somehow I'd heard that they used the timestamps on the tickets to issue speeding citations if you traveled from entry to exit faster than the speed limit would allow. I'm not sure where I read or heard that theory.

Isn't this basically how those "enforced by aircraft" zones work?

No.  Aircraft observe the speeding.  We're just talking about mathematical calculation based upon entry and exit from a toll system.

Isn't this basically how those "enforced by aircraft" zones work? The theory of you go between the posts faster than you should (ie takes a minute to go a mile at 60), they'd radio to a hidden cop?

There's also the point-to-point average speed cameras that Australia and others use. NSW claimed for years that they only ran for trucks, and then quietly it became all vehicles.
