This is interesting.
Essex CR 608 is shielded as Essex CR 527 Spur.

The overhead sign shows the former, but the gound shield shows the latter.

Thought SPUR CR 527 was decommissioned a long time ago.

If you go back to the 2009 street view, you'll see a vintage white rectangle 527 Spur shield. It was likely replaced "in kind" without checking if it was still the correct route. Additionally NJDOT accidentally signed the route as Spur 527 at NJ-124.

Somewhat disappointed to share that the stretch of US 130 from 322 to 295, one of the last original unmodified stretches of divided highway, has had an application of HPTO (high performance thin overlay). This was one of the last stretches of original 50s concrete that i know of, and the driving surface was still very smooth. I'm assuming they did this to help extend the life of the roadway.

NJDOT accidentally signed West Broad Street in Westfield as CR 509 from Route 28.  CR 509 has been truncated to NJ 28 and East Broad Street since the 1970's. It hasn't been to Holly Park South Plainfield in ages, but in 1997 ( and for a long period afterwards) NJDOT during a state wide resigning erected them there.

Union County DPW ripped down those signs finally and put up CR-653 shields. Middlesex County didn't get the memo though as part of 509 still exists on the books there along Maple Ave. near Plainfield Country Club. Its only county maintained between Park Ave. and Inman Ave. at CR-602.

Now Middlesex County doesn't consider it CR 509, but CR 602 as seen from Park Avenue.
