Tonight at the ESPYs I didn't find it much of a surprise for Fernando Mendoza to take home Best College Athlete, Alysa Liu to take home Best Breakthrough Athlete, or Lionel Messi to take home Best Soccer Player.

I got caught in a traffic jam from hell once on Hollywood Blvd. in front of the then-Kodak Theater (now the Dolby Theater) when they held the ESPYs there. I didn't have a damn clue that was going on. The next night I got Giants at Dodgers and it was all good.

I took the (then) Red Line in from North Hollywood to LAUPT and took the Dodger Stadium express bus back in 2013 to watch a game vs the Red Sox in the top deck

Back on subject - Award shows are just actors talking too much. - even atheletes.

Speaking of award shows, there are mixed theories I've read about celebrities attending the Kids Choice Awards knowing ahead of time if they will be slimed or if it's all a surprise.

Someone should write a story where the main conflict driving the plot is the characters competing to win the MacGuffin Award, despite there being no real benefit to doing so.

At the Critics Choice Super Awards yesterday The Furious won Best Action Movie, Obsession won Best Horror Movie, Project Hail Mary won Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie, Superman won Best Superhero Movie.
