Two signs on the same post with different styles, saying basically the same thing, citing the same law. Lots of streets in this neighborhood have them.

I was more bothered by the street name signs. Why even bother including the block number tab if you're going to leave it blank?

Also, that neighborhood looks like if clinical depression were a place.

West Virginia signs nearly all of its system interchanges with both overhead and/or ground-mounted panel signs and ground-mounted route markers.

This is true; at times there can be upwards of 4 signs indicating where the freeway on-ramp is.

Gee, I've driven around in there a few times, and I don't see it that way. In fairness, it's new, so not fully occupied yet, and it will look much better when the trees are fifty years old.

Unless you think all new housing developments look like corporate business parks or prisons...

This street doesn't appear to have any trees. It seems to me like whoever designed this part of it didn't expect anyone to ever want to go outside. In fact, while it might be more noticeable in person, from GSV I can't tell if many of these houses even have a way to leave that isn't the garage door.

This street doesn't appear to have any trees. It seems to me like whoever designed this part of it didn't expect anyone to ever want to go outside. In fact, while it might be more noticeable in person, from GSV I can't tell if many of these houses even have a way to leave that isn't the garage door.

In other parts of the development, they use different color schemes. So they're actually less monochromatic than most developments. But it's certainly true that they're designed for people who use their cars to go anywhere. Not designed for "walkability" to the store, although there are hiking trails in the surrounding parkland.

I mean, walkability is one thing, but it seems like it'd be awkward to even check the mail there.

Four different colors, yeah...white, dark grey, light grey, and beige. I get the impression that if you painted one of them blue, secret police would come for you forthwith.
