this is the same as I-84, or different, depending on your perspective

wait, seeing as someone intervened with an I-91, it doesn't matter if I-80N is considered the same route as I-84  :sombrero:

the Vermont gantry, btw, dates to 1986.  there are several in that area with that year that survived as of 2007.

OK!  Agentsteel, your CT historic pictures are awesome!  I'd really love to see more.  Can't keep the 84 thing going without repeating I84 CT... so I'll keep the CT Interstate and US signs going, but I have to say, my BGS assembly here is completely the opposite of your shield assembly... i.e.  Mine is the uggggliest thing on 2 posts, and your I84/US6/US202 assembly is a thing of timeless beauty!  US cutouts should have never been done away with in the MUTCD.

Without further ado, a sign that should be put out of its misery, and hopefully will be as soon as the bridge between Enfield and Suffield CT on CT 190 is finished being reconstructed.

It's still there as of July 2009, because that's when I took that pic...  :spin:

Keeping with the New England theme...

now moving very, very far away from New England:

yep, those are US-91 and US-466 shields scraped off this late 1950s guide sign when the routes were decommissioned in the early 1970s.  The sign still survives in Las Vegas as of about a week and a half ago.

that may very well be a reference to the first US-466 - which existed in New Mexico from 1926 to 1934, before it was decommissioned, and the number reused for a different route, running from Arizona to Nevada to California.

I do not know of any New Mexico US-466 shields - in the wild, or elsewhere - so here is another example of the second US-466.

Different kind of 12... No 127 though.

I probably should go back and read the rules of this game; I think I'm violating them by posting this pic.  However, since the shield should be WA 127, I hope that keeps me out of trouble with the Road Geek Powers That Be.

I'm not sure it matters anymore. I've seen several violations that no one has called.

Crap! Wish I had my "OH 127" signs uploaded!

In the interim, this will have to do...

The entry is the "KY 127" sign to the left of the photo. It's an error. This is US 127 in Albany, Ky.
