Which state most loves the Bypass?

Mississippi is guilty too. They've built a ton of them since the 70s...the original routes have state route numbers.

Louisiana isn't much on by-passes, however there are a few.  In fact, they are building a new by-pass road around Homer, LA.  Instead of making it the new leg of US 79/LA 9, and using the original route as a BUSINESS US 79/LA 9 (at least I think that would be the fun way to do it :spin:),it will be an all together new state road--LA 3244--in all its 2-lane glory. :meh:  It's mostly a way to get the 18-wheelers out of downtown and keep them from negotiating the courthouse square.
Runnin' roads and polishin' rails.

doesn't Shreveport also have a bypass that's some four-digit state route?  Something like 3129 or whatnot.

LA 3132 is the freeway bypass running around the west and south sides of the city.

I was going to say Virginia gives NC a run for the title with all their blue bypasses on the road atlas.

But we don't like that down here. If you are going to take a US Route across this state, you WILL visit every small, medium and large city's center (or at least be blocks away from it). It must be a conspiracy against tourists; no bypasses = more time spent in the state = more revenue for the state.
So many roads...so little time.

more speed limits of 25, more getting pulled over for doing 24 in a 25 in Waldo ... more revenue indeed.

I think the state of Florida made it so that any speeding ticket coming out of Waldo did not lead to points on your license in the big computer in Tallahassee.  It's a sign that something's gone way too far, when even the government is sick of government corruption.

Virginia definitely loves the bypass if nobody has mentioned it yet.  Just look at US 29 and US 460 for proof.
NJ Roads FTW!
