Dr Pepper is one of the few soft drinks that I can't tell a difference between diet and regular.

Hmm, next time I go to Arby's I'll try a sip of the Diet version to see if I can taste any difference myself.

Just tried the Diet version today and you're right.  I could barely taste a difference between the two.  Still, I'd rather drink the normal one.

Normally I drink regular Pepsi or Dr. Pepper. I also consume a lot of water, mostly tap.

Anyway, has anyone seen the Coke that comes in glass bottles? I find the taste of that slightly better then Coke in plastic bottles.

A very popular soft drink around here in my youth was "little Cokes." It was Coca-Cola in those little 7.5 or 8 ounce bottles. People swore by 'em and said the beverage tasted better than in 12 ounce bottles. My mother loved those little Cokes. My grandmother, too.

in both cases, it might be that the glass-bottle coke has real sugar, while the plastic is high fructose corn syrup.  I much prefer the sugar coke, which - coincidentally - comes in glass bottles.

Cranberry juice, grapefruit juice and pomegranate juice. Somedays I like one more than the other.

The only Coke in glass bottles I have seen is the Mexican-made Coke I mentioned earlier.

They sell them at the Cracker Barrels.

Those still exist, although the bottles are made of plastic. There are also 8 ounce cans of various Coke and Pepsi products available.

I just had Coke today with an ingredient of sucrose instead of HFCS.  Tasted a lot different too.  I wonder if the negative publicity got them to change their ingredients?

The Hilltop Market in Theta, TN has Coke in real glass bottles.  I haven't checked to see if they have sugar or HFCS.

My drinks of choice are Arizona Iced Tea, almost any kind of soda (preferrably Coke products), and I do like hot tea when the time is right.

Water obviously goes without saying.

I formerly thought that Diet Dr. Pepper was the best (or rather, least bad) diet drink, but then I (accidentally since I didn't see the "Zero" on the label when I bought it) tried this:

And now Diet Dr. Pepper is a distant second place. Unfortunately, Guarana as far as I know is not sold in the U.S.

I tried my first bottle of it.  To me it seemed good but not exceptional.  I did, though, drink it straight out of the bottle even though it was chilled.  Next time, I'll try it on the rocks.

Around here, a lot of supermarkets have international aisles.  Or find a Hispanic community (most states have them, you just have to know where to look) and try their market.

Was it a "throwback" one, or just a regular Coke?

I haven't heard of any throwback Cokes being out there.  Unless it one of those from Mexico, but those are made with Sugar.

You know, Coke out of the bottle has been tasting different to me of late...was there really an ingredient change?

It looks like the Lehigh Valley bottler switched to sucrose, and I'd bet that being in Jersey you're probably either in their jurisdiction or close enough to it that you get their bottles from time to time

http://www.lehighvalleycoke.com/default.asp

...a little bit more research- the Lehigh Valley Coke bottler is ABARTA East, which serves Warren County, which doesn't look like it's too far from where you are

http://www.abarta.com/divisions/beverage_group/coke_east.htm

but there is a bottler in Parsippany, so who knows

If there is a Texas de Brazil near your location (excellent but EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE Brazilian steakhouse), they have it. It's pretty good, actually.

Looks like ABARTA doesn't serve my county. Probably the bottler in Parsippany serves my town, since my town borders and is in the same county as Parsippany.

On the rocks is much better!  It's a much subtler ginger ale than I'm used to.
