We take a lot of photos, and many of them never get online or get online well after they were taken. So I'm gonna post a few here from time to time for fun.

Took that photo from the fort itself during a Mardi Gras event. Not sure when you could ever get that perspective at night any other time.

What filter did you use on that nighttime photo voyager?

Interstate 70 west at Interstate 435 in Kansas City, Missouri. Photo taken 10/17/04 from our Interstate 70 cross-country trip.

I just used the Photoshop auto adjustments.

I adjust levels, brightness/contrast on most photos I process for AARoads (thanks Jeff Royston for showing me how). Unfortunately I had a smudge on my lens the other night before realizing it. That happened to me in NYC and in Tallahassee once before and on a video my friend shot for me in 1993 of the S.F. Bay area roads.

This camera gave too much noise on its night-time photos.

Are you sure it's something on your lens? It happened to me once where almost every sign I took pictures of had bright light bouncing off it. I eventually found the cause which was a piece of reflective material I had on the rear parcel shelf which caused the sun to bounce off it and onto the sign. That may be the cause of the bright steaks on the left sign in your picture as the sun is behind you.

Well for that particular shot, I looked at the lens a few seconds later and noticed my finger had touched it. None of the shots I took after I cleaned it were as focused, as I was balancing the camera within an open notch of the old Fort Condé outer wall. I usually keep a q-tip in my camera bag to take care of this, but this time I just had the camera in my pocket.

What's the law about stopping on the shoulder over there? I've done it a few times to take pictures but I'm always wary of cops. Nice shot of the button copy btw.

I would NEVER stop on the shoulder in Europe to take a picture of a sign. Fine: € 250 ($ 320) in the Netherlands.

I have a ton of Alaskan Way viaduct photos, but have not had the time to craft a page for it. I have pics from both directions, from the waterfront looking east, from street view as you saw above, and from a structure above the deck as well.

I need to go through the queue of all the photos from our 2006 trip first. Plus Chris Kalina (seattleroadgeek) may or may not have some photos that he took for us once he got a camera. I'm also not sure what else Matt Strieby may have lined up for updates.
