Anyone catch the lunar eclipse overnight?  Here's one of my photos, from around 3:30am EST.

Alex

indeed, been outside off and on for a couple of hours marveling at it.  :coffee:

Yes, it was well worth it being woken up to see the eclipse!!  :coffee: :-P :coffee:

Has any of you ever seen a full solar eclipse?

I have witnessed the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 in Southern Germany. It was one of the most amazing events I have ever seen.

Ian

Yup, got up at 3 AM to see it. Couldn't get any good photos though. I'll be pretty tired today, but it was worth getting up to see it.

I stayed at home, and got 97%. It was bizarre, especially as it was mid summer and during the middle of the day.

I awakened and picked-up my newspaper this morning at 6 am, after the eclipse.  The full moon was sharp and bright yellow in south Florida looking directly west.

I saw the beginning of it as I was going in to work. People kept nipping outside on their breaks to take a look at it.

It was very clear here. Beautiful viewing weather.

But a need to get up at 6:30 in the morning to go to work means that at 3:00 one must be asleep, so I missed it.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

I stayed up but I went to bed after looking at it one last time at 3 AM because my mom scheduled a dentist appointment for me at 8:30, an ungodly hour for college students on break.
