The replacements will be made at minimal cost at one of New York's finer crowbar hotels.

I would just put a sticker over the error.

I would just put a sticker over the error.

That's a much cheaper solution.

How much does it actually cost to make a license plate?

Just curious

Let's see... the first step in making the plate is to send the prisoners into Mordor to forge the metal into the plate, which they then color yellow from the melted gold confiscated from the peasants, and form the blue letters by mixing the gold with their blood.  On the other hand, the person who prints off the sticker actually has to get paid a union wage (this is NY, after all).

So:
Labor: $20/hour
Supplies: $5
Forging a new plate with prison labor and confiscated gold: Priceless
There are some things money can't buy.  For everything else, there's MasterCard.

That new plate should really be replaced, I liked the previous design a lot more. I was dating a girl from New York when the current design was introduced, she was quite upset with the change since she was a fan of the previous design.

Almost 5 years later and I realize that she was a keeper, she actually had enough of an attachment to a license plate to have a reaction to its change.
