Interstate or other freeways where there are no follow ups to control cities

I know that this may have been covered before, and excuse me if it has, but I was wondering where there are places signed on a freeway.  Then not followed up either on the ramp or other roads thereafter.

In my hometown of Clark, NJ.  The Garden State Parkway Exit 135 is signed for Clark- Westfield, but no follow ups at the end of the ramps for Clark.  It is not done deliberately, but because there is no Downtown in Clark and the interchange is within that particular community, you cannot really direct anyone to a specific place. Westfield, Rahway, and Linden are indeed signed at the exit ramps though.

US 22 in Hillside, NJ has Hillside-Irvington signed for the Broad Street exit.  No follow ups at the end of the ramp as well as other roads leading to Irvington.  There is no direct route to Irvington from this interchange, and why NJDOT signed it here is beyond me, but you have to make many turns to get to Irvington.  Hillside on the other hand, has no Downtown.  All directions lead to parts of here due to the fact the interchange is in Hillside.

I-287 in Piscataway, NJ has Highland Park- Middlessex signed for Possumtown Road.  Middlessex and Highland Park are both signed here on the ramps, but not on the many turns you have to make to finish your way to Highland Park.  Middlessex is a straight run Northbound on Possumtown.

Winter Park, FL-  I-4 Eastbound at Par Street has Winter Park signed at the end of the ramp for a right turn, but as soon as you turn that way the street immediately  ends with no follow up. You are confused whether to turn left or right.  To get to Winter Park you only have to turn right for one block at the end of Par, to FL 527.  Then left again where no other follow up is placed either.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

On I-64 in New Kent County, VA, VA 106 was (and still is, IIRC) signed for Prince George courthouse. I can't remember if there's a follow up on the ramps, but Prince George is 20 miles and a long duplex with VA 156 away from the interstate.

IIRC, I-610 in Houston has Belaire listed as a control city and that's about it.

Hillside does have a downtown, its on Liberty Ave./CR-509. If you make a left on that off-ramp from 22 (which goes to Hillside Ave., not North Broad St.) it will take you to Liberty Ave. and if you continue further on and follow CR-509 north you land up in Irvington.

I-5 Exit 239 in Oregon - Where is Dever-Connor, Dever, or Connor?

All of the other exits in the area are simply named for the intersecting road, save for the Jefferson exits (which are appropriately signed).

I-5 Exit 294 (southound), the control cities are Tigard and Newberg, with McMinnville and Lincoln City named on a secondary sign.  But once exited off of I-5 there are no reassurance signs or distance signs for over four miles (and by then you've not only passed all the way through Tigard, but also King City!), and that distance sign does not give the distance to Lincoln City (on the Oregon Coast).

I-70 @ Exit 28 in Grand Junction, Colorado:

They have (recently replaced) large BGSs which tout "24 Road/Redlands Parkway", yet once you leave the mainline I-70, there is no clue whatsoever as to where is/how to get to Redlands Parkway, yet 2/3rds of the BGS is devoted to Redlands Parkway.  :confused:

Only us locals in Grand Junction know that 24 Road becomes Redlands Parkway -- about 2 miles SOUTH of the interstate -- and even then, there is no notation on 24 Road that it has now become Redlands Parkway, or vice versa. :ded:

I'm still working to assemble my "written novel" to CDOT to note all the errata on their new BGSs along I-70, which replaced the old signs with the same errata -- the same braniacs who claim that a certain traffic light off of Exit 37 is correctly functioning in "sensor signal mode" despite waiting 2 minutes in the middle of the night with nobody around waiting for the light to change. :pan:
