My road trip to Burma Shave (with apologies to Tom Waits)

I'll have to see if have pictures of the Burma Shave signs that are up on AZ 66.  I know for sure they have them in the back lot of the Hackberry General store, you could say that in effect...you do drive to Burma Shave.

Here's one I shot back in May 2010.  There is a verse set in the other direction.

Are those DOT issued Burma Shave signs?

I didn't look on the back for a sticker but I assume they're DOT-issued (or at least DOT-sanctioned) as they're posted in the right-of-way.  As the road also is designated as Historic US-66, I assume the signs are part of promoting the road as a tourist destination.

Some I never thought I'd see, but actually, oddly, do exist:

Amateur tattoos
Polo shirts - Piqué vs. Interlock
Ever smash a King Don in your face because you saw Weird Al do it?
(WTF is a "King Don" anyway?)
Have you ever bubbled while Scholaring?
I have some strange health problems
Pink-colored candy - Strawberry or Watermelon?

Hostess King Dons were originally called Hostess Ding Dongs.  Think of a chocolate-covered cupcake in the shape of a hockey puck.  Why the name change, I don't know.

Better to smash a King Don in your face than Don King!

King Dong sounds like a name a porn actor would use.

Never heard the name.  Here, they were always Ding Dongs, and still are.
