US highway with the smallest city that is its largest

I was thinking that US-7 is a road that does not go through anything major.  what is the largest city on US-7?  Danbury at population 83000 appears to be it.

is there any active US highway that does not go through a larger city?

(historically, US-7 did not count, as it terminated in NYC.  US-630 would probably be my guess for all-time.)

US 641. I'd have to think that Murray, Ky. is the largest town it passes through, and that's primarily because of Murray State University.

Murray is 17K. But historically US 641 entered Evansville (now 117K).

I'd bet on US 48. Even the cities beyond the ends (not technically served because I-79 and I-81 bypass them) are small (Weston 4K, Strasburg 6K).

US 199 in California has no incorporated cities.  The answer for that route is None Of The Above...LOL!  If the old 101/199 multiplexed route was still in place then Crescent City, which is the only incorporated city in Del Norte county, would be both the largest and smallest city on 199.

US 191 serves very little population relative to its length. Despite traversing the entire height of America, it only goes through five cities with more than 10,000 people: Bozeman (40k), Rock Springs WY (24k), Douglas AZ (17k), and Jackson WY (10k), and Vernal UT (10k), and only  7 more with more than 5,000 (Lewistown MT, Livingston MT, Price UT, Moab UT, Kayenta AZ, Eagar-Springerville AZ, Safford AZ)

Alternates do count, as do any primary route that have an N/S/E/W on them, because the length of those highways.

Only if alternate routes count. If so I nominate US 101 Alt. around Ilwaco-Seaview, WA. It doesn't serve any incorporated areas and appears to have 3-4 houses along it.

It's the latter, but ost of the routes that would qualify are in one state only.
