I have isolated thunderstorms all across Connecticut. And let me tell you, they're strong.

Thankfully we don't have strong thunderstorms here. Today it's been in the low 70's with some sunshine. Tonight it's in the 50's so a comfortable night is in store without A/C :D

Amazing that parts of Eastern CT and Central MA got almost 5" of rain from this line of thunderstorms.  Meanwhile, west of the Connecticut River in the Hartford area, we got hardly anything.

Today Cordoba, Spain has hit an all-time record high of 116.2 F!!! I bet the Hell was cooler than that :sombrero:. Meanwhile, at the same time (11:00 a.m. Eastern) Oviedo in northern Spain reported 63.3 F, 52 degrees cooler. For the record, my hometown of Huesca recorded 97.2 F at that point

That is hot :sombrero:. BTW, what was the max in Phoenix on July 13th? I won't be surprised if Cordoba was hotter.

That's not really all that bad, from a Midwestern point of view.  17 inches of rain overnight, and now we're talking floods.

As for the weather here, southwest of Chicago, it's warm, muggy, and sunny, with a high of 88 and humidity of just 36% (down from the last week).

Maybe across the Pond, but here, that tomorrow could be anything, maybe even round 2 of storms.

Because our thunderstorms happen late in the day and the UK isn't that hot, the water that falls takes a while to be evaporated back into the air, giving a fresh morning and blue skies. Because more of the sun's energy is reaching the ground than if it was cloudy, the water does go back into the air efficiently and often we get round 2 the following evening - but after a sunny day that wasn't muggy in the morning.

However this storm didn't last long, and it's more muggy now than before. It's going to be muggy and cloudy all tomorrow and while chance of rain is low, there are warnings about storms (I doubt we'll get one).

Apparently rain may return to the Seattle area tomorrow, for the first time in four weeks. No one's losing their minds, but I expect a slight increase in area collisions (due to oil that hasn't run off the road, so slightly slippy conditions).

82 degrees with 79% humidity, according to Rainmeter's weather applet. It was supposed to get to 95, but some surprise rain chased some of the heat away.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow or Friday because it's supposed to get to 100.

Seattle's dry streak continues. No measurable rain fell. Several surrounding municipalities had some measurable rainfall, but the airport recorded none. So, officially, we're like 35 days now without rain. And the forecast shows no rain anytime soon.

I'll trade either of you for low 80s with lots of humidity, if you're too wimpy to handle the upper 50s. ;-)
