Upper 80's and humid, with potential thunderstorms this PM. The kind of weather where you just stay inside unless you can go to the beach.

On and off clouds, with temps in the mid 80s with Thunderstorms possible later. Looking at the warning/watch map, there is a long line of Severe T-Storm watches from the KS/OK border to the Upper Peninsula.

Upper 80s and a decent chance for thunderstorms today, due to a tropical wave that is coming ashore in the area.

It's been mid-70s for most of the week, and we'll dive back into a relieving 60-degree rainstorm over the weekend.

Mid-90s and sunny, lately.  A bit of a breeze today, which is nice.

Had a tornado warning earlier near Rockford IL but everything has now cleared out. No tornadoes ever touched down.

I haven't really noticed much of any difference due to it at all so far; I think the media just hyped it up for the allergy sufferers. Besides, it keeps hurricanes away, so I'm happy.

However, it has been raining all week long and I don't think the temperature has risen above 90 this week. Based off of my home's rain gauge and others in the area, I guesstimate I've gotten a whopping 7-10 inches of rain this week. Still, even though that is completely nuts (maybe not for Houston, though), it only flooded a couple feeder roads and I think only one home?

Next week's weather looks pretty typical for this time of year. Low 90s, with about a 30% chance for a thunderstorm each day.

We had a chance for thunderstorms last Thursday that fell flat on its face. None of the Wasatch Front got anything. A few storms did form further south, but they weren't that strong and didn't hit anywhere north of Nephi.

It's currently 94 at the SLC airport. Tomorrow should be similarly hot, but it will be quite windy as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Parts of southwest Utah are under a high wind warning, in addition to a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning since humidities will be low and the vegetation down there has all but dried out.

In addition to the wind, there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms in northern Utah as the cold front approaches. Behind the front, we'll probably see a period of decent heavy rain, and then it will be much colder - the high on Monday in Salt Lake is 66. It will be cold enough to snow above 7000 feet, where the forecast calls for 1-4 inches of the white stuff.

I just took a trip to:

1. Abandoned train tunnel in Clinton, MA, plus the nearby dam
2. Covered bridge in Rutland, MA
3. Covered bridge in Shirley, MA (belongs to a restaurant)
4. Covered bridge in Pepperell, MA

Halfway between stop #1 and stop #2 (about 11:15 AM), the weather forecast was threatening us with thunder starting at 1 PM. There has been off and on light rain, but no thunder yet, even as I type this.

89 degrees and partly cloudy. I got back from the Highest point in Arkansas (Mt. Magazine, 2753 feet), and up at the top it is 8-9 degrees lower than it is down in the valley. There, it was in the mid to upper 70s with sunny skies.

Update on the dust storm:

The only effects I've noticed from it is a hazy sky and a dirty windshield.

One interesting thing, though. It seems it slightly disrupted people's GPS's.

Hot, dry, and windy.  We're forecast to hit triple digits the next couple of days.

Despite the dry weather, the wheat harvest in southwestern Kansas wasn't too bad from what I hear.  Some of the grain that didn't fare as well ended up with higher protein content, and the resulting higher price offset the lower yield.
