There is one sign I really hope gets shown soon. On I-70 near Zanesville, OH, there is a sign that says "State Route 666 impassable by heavy trucks." That sign has always struck me as funny because it implies skinny trucks go to hell. Since 666 is coming soon, that would be awesome imo.

That's not the only great 666 sign out there. Expect a race for that number.

I am. Trust me.
I's traveled:

I have a rather unique 666 sign photo but I can actually post it when 664 comes up...

A bit of an ugly, and erroneous sign (should be a secondary shield, though both the 658 and 17 shields are incorrect shape as well).
It could be my imagination, but the ALL-CAPS text looks compressed slightly too. Courtesy of the city of Kenora!

This doesn't count because it's a blade.  This is awesome though.  It's ok I won't count it as a -1.
I love the attempt to mitigate the theft of "666" signs which is evidently really popular.

Let's get a legit 664 shield next.

Get your kicks, on Route 6-66!

In Cortez, Colorado, in 1996 (with a younger and skinnier version of me in front of the sign assembly), before US 666 was renumbered to US 491:

P.S. I saw several other sign assemblies on this highway with the 666 marker missing. This one may have survived only due to its relatively urban location. Previously on that trip, I'd seen one of the stolen 666 markers on a college campus.

When I drove there with my parents back in the day, literally the only 666 route shield I saw still standing was bolted to the mast arm of a stoplight in Monticello:  a little hard to get to.

The rectangular Virginia secondary route markers are actually more common than the circular markers.

This is correct.  The rectangle marker can also be used as a reassurance shield in Virginia like this:

And in Mapmikey's photo upthread, there are conventional street blades right next to the 664 and Six-Six-Six signs, confirming that the latter are not street blades.

Not that it mattered ultimately. (there won't be another Hampton Roads Beltway shield in the thread)

I've been holding out until I had something more interesting than a plain Virginia circle for one of these.  This is still a Virginia circle but at least it's on a green sign.  From Virginia 28.
