US, Interstate routes that cross only once and do not intersect

I've found this to be a fairly rare instance but happens often enough to be noticeable. For instance, US 45 crosses I-64 out in the middle of nowhere in Illinois but there is an interchange. However, in other locations, there is no interchange.

Kentucky examples --
I-64 and US 31 cross in Louisville but do not intersect.
I-64 and US 421 cross near Midway but do not intersect.
I-64 and US 25 cross north of Lexington but do not intersect.
I-65 and US 150, US 31E and US 60 all cross in Louisville but there's no interchange. (US 31E is signed on an I-65 exit near Nashville, but the roads do not actually cross. Also, US 60 used to have an interchange when it was routed along I-264, and there is an interchange with Alternate US 60, but it does not count).
I-471 does not intersect US 27. The spur route south of I-275 that connects to US 27 is unsigned KY 471.

No examples for I-24, I-71, I-75, I-265 or I-275. I-275 does not intersect US 27 in Kentucky, but it does in Ohio.

No examples in West Virginia.

In New York, I-87 crosses but does not intersect US 44, 202, and 209 (although 209 comes close).

I-20 crosses US 19, US 29, and US 41 all in Atlanta, with no direct interchange to any of them.

US-58 and I-64 cross without interchange in Virginia Beach.

Would you count US-30 and I-75 in Ohio?  You have to go on Ohio 696* for about 1/4 mile to get from one freeway to the other.

* - aka Lincoln Highway, so I surmise this was once part of US-30.  Perhaps when the US-30 freeway was built, it was felt impractical to build a direct intersection to I-75.

I-84 and US 5 in East Hartford, CT

I-91 and US 44 in Hartford: US 44 isn't officially part of I-84 when they cross (it's on a pair of exit ramps from I-84) , but it does join by the time the ramp from I-91 South to I-84 East merges onto 84.

Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

Just curious how US 63 and I-70 in Columbia, MO would count on this score.

I-95 and US 27 in Miami has no interchange. There's no "To US 27" signs anywhere. It's a bit of an oddity, since I-95 in Florida skips over very few state roads for exits, but the missing 27 has always been a weird one.

A) they're both going to terminate a few miles south/east in Miami anyhow.

B) the I-195 / FL 112 interchange built in the 1960s doesn't leave any room for an exit.

In NJ I-80 crosses US 202 without a direct interchange
Not quite Interstate, but US 30 and US 322 cross the NJ Turnpike without an interchange

Alex

I-75 and US 92 cross without any access. Further north US 301 passes under I-75 for a third and final time from the south, but this time without direct access. The two parallel each other through to Ocala before US 301 branches northeast for good.

US 41 crosses under I-275 in FL near the north end without direct access due to a parallel CSX Railroad line.

Yes there is.  The westbound exit is a bit convoluted and requires one to use c/d roads and ramps, but it's a direct connection.

The Ohio US 30/I-75 and US 35/I-71 mentions are accurate now, but at one time they were not. The OH 435 current routing was once US 35 until the freeway was completed.

US-150 and I-57 cross once in Champaign, IL without an interchange.  It also used to cross I-55 the same way before it was rerouted onto IL-9 and Mitsubishi Motorway in Bloomington-Normal.

US-52 crosses I-88 once without an interchange in Dixon, IL.

Yes for US 30.
No for US 322: Scroll down for NJTP Exit 2 BGS

However, US 322 and I-76 (via the PA Turnpike) cross each other but don't intersect/change.

I-40 and US 31 (Eighth Avenue South) in Nashville, Tennessee.  I-65 is multiplexed with I-40 at that point, but it does interchange with US 31 several times, and multiplexes with it at least once.

Kind of a two-for-one, I-80/90 (Indiana Toll Road) crosses US-35 without interchange near La Porte, IN.

Brandon

Also, US-35 crosses both I-80 and I-90 (same spot, Indiana Toll Road) once without an interchange near LaPorte, IN.

US-127 does likewise for the Ohio Turnpike (I-80 and I-90 again) near West Unity, OH.

Ok, so obviously my post was poorly researched. Thanks for all the corrections.

I'll add I-476 and US 202 to redeem myself

There's one on-ramp from US Route 5 North to I-84/US Route 6 West. I'd imagine no other ramps were built due to a nearby flood dike wall immediately south of the interstate. Also, I-84/US 6's Exit 56 for Governor Street - East Hartford is already immediately after this heading west.

Not 100% certain about I-91 and US Route 44...but they come awfully damn close!
