I'd been waiting for a while to use this photo...

I think that sign assembly is now gone replaced by newer ones.

Dougtone:  Do you have other classic early 80's BGS on CT-34 photos?  Such as:

CT-34 WB:  CT-15 1/3 Mile Sign (in the median) & JCT CT-8/Ct-34 (shields with black borders on them) 1/2 Mile Sign in Derby?
CT-34 EB: "Westville Next Left/West Haven Next Right"?
I only take pics of good looking signs. Long live non-reflective button copy!

on the 93 theme...

two different Idaho shields.  The left one was made by Dominion Sign Company from Virginia (narrow Series C font with rounded letter O on IDAHO, upside down 6 for number 9, and non-standard shield shape), the right by G&G Signs from New Jersey (very closely spaced digits on number 20, and Series E font on IDAHO) - both are date to between 1926 and 1933 or so.  The "R" looks to be another Dominion creation, and I dunno who made the cateyed Junction sign (I only know shields!  :-D ).  The "2 Blocks Ahead" is probably an Idaho prison job - hand-painted on wood with that excellent rounded font, as all their guide signs were from about 1919 to 1942.  I found a 1940s steel set of guide signs - same font, just different material - a few weeks ago that survives to this day!

What have I been thinking? I've got all those old Michael Summa photos I could be using! Must go dig through them...
