UAN51

Hello! I'm UAN51.

I am from Kansas City, MO. I am a college student interested in transportation and infrastructure. My planned majors are Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Sadly, my major is not civil engineering. Even though I'm more interested in airplanes, I like talking about roads, highways, and more. I am one of many mappers for OpenStreetMap.

I'm about 6 hours due south of you ;)

I know a couple road folks up your way, but they're not on the forum.

It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

Howdy from Dalton, Georgia, which is in the northwest corner of the state, and it is right off of Interstate 75.

I have some family that lives up in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Sadly, as of now, I have not actually visited the area yet, nor Kansas City. But I wish to visit both places and much more in the future, and there is definitely some nice roads and bridges to go around!

See ya around on the forum!

Mapper for OSM, that's pretty neat, is there anything particularly interesting about it? Welcome to the forum!

LOL! The 12 day difference really messed me up!

It must have.  :-D  :D

But some pieces of advice are to:

1) Look upthread and see if you have already posted what it is that you were wanting to say.

and/or

2) Before you even click on the thread, you can look by one of the icons and see if you have already posted in it. It looks like this:

If you see the smiley face, then you have posted in that thread. If you don't, then you haven't.

In this case, there was actually only two posts separating your two duplicate "Welcome!" posts (in other words, your second post was just three posts down from the first one).

I actually for the life of me cannot remember where it was that I read that. I am an extremely observant person, but I feel like I actually saw something that was informing me on what all those icons meant, but I am unable to find it right now.

I also have definitely seen that somewhere, in the guidelines or rules or something. Of course, I never can remember that little smiley at the right times, but I did know that's what it meant.

ETA: There's a list of all of them and what they mean at the bottom of every board  :D

Have you guys learned nothing?  When you can't find something, it's always right in front of your nose!

While I certainly don't have the time to read every thread on the board, I always spend a little time glancing through the welcome threads.  Often I ask myself why, since it does take away time from reading some of active threads and usually most of the responses are other people saying hello.  But occasionally you learn something new, so hats off for informing me about the smiley.  This should be very useful.

Oh and welcome to the fourm UAN51 by the way.
