I went down to Hugo to clinch OK-93 last night (also grabbing nearby-ish 98 while I was at it), so that puts me at 97. I've crossed under OK-97 before, and my 2019 Port Aransas trip intersected TX-97, but I've never been on either of them. But the most frustrating thing is, whereas in most other states MO-97/I-44 would be a concurrency, for some reason MO routed 97 down the frontage road. Aargh!

How would a concurrency even work there?  The southbound part doesn't even have an interchange.

What I meant was, in most other states, they'd have interchanges at both places so they could have a concurrency, rather than maintaining two miles of frontage-road-as-state-highway.

I drove under OH 511 on I-71 Friday Night, and of course I remembered to think about oscar.
This shall be a time-honored roadgeek tradition from now on.  When on a route 511, you must take a moment to remember Oscar.

Might be too late to change my ways... 511 makes me think of this.

Interestingly, the only active primary route on Wikipedia's "list of highways numbered 511" is OH 511. There's also a FM 511. But the Wikipedia list may not actually be complete.

Mississippi and Louisiana have 511s.

I don't think the Louisiana highways are classified as primary or not; there's some very short two-digit routes, and lengthy four-digit highways.

For those going to the county-route well:
- New Jersey's 511 is 37.44 miles in length.
- Florida's Brevard 511 is a former secondary route
- Alabama's Talladega-Clay-Coosa County 511 is part of a former alignment of US 280, so it goes on for about 18 miles. For Alabama, it's a rare example of a county route keeping the same number between three different counties.

Moved Scott5114 up the ranks, but I'm unsure if Daniel Fiddler and MCRoads considered other numbered highways than Interstates and U.S. routes.  Looks like ethanhopkin14 accidentally posted in the wrong thread (i.e., good stat, but not for this therad).

SNIP!

No, I don't even think I'd that... I know I've been on OK-3 (it's almost impossible not to if you have lived in the OKC metro), but I'm not sure if I have ever been on a state road 2. I don't really pay attention to state roads that much...
I build roads on Minecraft. Like, really good roads.
Interstates traveled:
4/5/10*/11**/12**/15/25*/29*/35(E/W[TX])/40*/44**/49(LA**)/55*/64**/65/66*/70°/71*76(PA*,CO*)/78*°/80*/95°/99(PA**,NY**)

*/** indicates a terminus/termini being traveled
° Indicates a gap (I.E Breezwood, PA.)

My latest road trip (now near Little Rock, a few days away from home) brought my lowest-numbered untraveled route up to 539. As kind of a consolation prize for Hurricane Ida making me reroute my trip away from the New Orleans area, I instead turned north to the Shreveport area, which wasn't trashed by Ida and has many state highways in the low 500s.

I think 511 was more magical, but now we have to think of Oscar on 539.

Also, the rest of you need to step up your game.

I still have to double check, but per OpenStreetMap my lowest number is now 26. However the 18 I claim is labelled as 19 in other maps (e.g. Google Maps and my van's GPS), so I'll need to get the official log. I have a 19 from elsewhere, so it wouldn't affect if I confirm the 18.
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

Working on it...but while I can get my next few steps up the ladder fairly easily with in-state trips, I have a block coming up at 106, which will require trips to the far side of Kansas or Missouri (or Texas, but I think getting to Minneapolis KS might be more doable than San Antonio).

Can I join the game?
Lowest-numbered route I have NOT been on?
In NC - NC 2
In US based Trips from NC to NY - US 2
In Interstates - I84 in Scranton (ONCE went on exit to there due to splitting lanes, but got back on 81)

The question is this:  Of all the routes you've ever been on, what is the lowest number not represented by any of them?

For example, my number is 22.  This means I've never been on any route numbered 22, anywhere.

Like not driving under or over them (assuming its a crossing bridge between the main interstate or highway)?  :hmmm:
You have to be on the route, not over or under it.

If you cross over or under a route, or even cross it at grade, you haven't been on the route.

It can, of course, get a little weird.  At least in the hypothetical world, what if you did a U-turn by swinging wide at an intersection?  Do you get to count that crossroad?  That is, in the illustration below, can you count 309?

I'm 700 miles from the nearest Route 29 (over in east-central Idaho). Alberta's would actually be not too much further.

If only I could count the implied designation of WA-29 (US 395, based on its child routes), but sadly it's not a real hidden route.

Doesn't Washington also skip a bunch of two digit numbers somewhere in the middle? I remember there not being any SR in the 50s, 60s and 70s ranges.

NWI_Irish96

For everybody who is struggling with this:

Start with 1.

Have you ever been on any highway numbered 1? Doesn't have to be US 1, doesn't have to be any specific state highway 1, just any highway numbered 1.
If no, then 1 is your answer.
If yes, move on to 2.

Have you ever been on any highway numbered 2? Doesn't have to be I-2 or US 2, just any highway numbered 2.
If no, then 2 is your answer.
If yes, then move on to 3.

Keep repeating until you finally answer no. That number is your answer.

Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%

Yes, because it doesn't fit the grid. The easternmost route is SR 31 (SR 41 is further east but was numbered to match ID, by coincidence fitting in the grid) and the northernmost used to be SR 30 (now part of SR 20).
