I have uploaded nine new videos to the Millennium Highway Web site. These videos are from the second and third days of my trip to New York and New England back in October. I don't have the index page updated with the links and descriptions, but here are the links to the videos. All are MP4 files.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/Palisades_Interstate_Pkwy.mp4

This one covers the Palisades Interstate Parkway from the New York Thruway (I-87 and I-287) north to Bear Mountain.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/US_7_Mass_Pt_1.mp4
http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/US_7_Mass_Pt_2.mp4

Together, these two videos offer a virtual clinch of US 7 in Massachusetts, between the Connecticut and Vermont state lines.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/VT_9_Pt_1.mp4
http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/VT_9_Pt_2.mp4

These two cover VT 9 across the southern part of Vermont, from Bennington to I-91 in Brattleboro. The early fall foliage is a scenic highlight of these two videos.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/I-393.mp4

This one provides a virtual clinch of I-393 near Concord, NH, and includes parts of I-89 and I-93.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/I-95_New_Hampshire.mp4

The length of I-95 in New Hampshire, from Maine to Massachusetts, featuring the infamous exit to the NH state liquor store just north of the Massachusetts border.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/Mass_Pike-NY_Berkshire_Spur.mp4

This starts at the final toll plaza on the MassPike and follows I-90 to the point where it departs the Berkshire Spur of the NY Thruway, then follows the un-numbered Thruway across the Hudson River to I-87

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/I-587.mp4

Kingston, NY's pointless interstate, which begins at a roundabout off I-87 and ends at NY 32, and is co-signed with NY 28 for its entire length.

Hope you enjoy these videos. There's more to come from this trip that I'll be working on as time permits.

These videos are all now available at http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos.html, a Certified Viatology-Free Zone.

By 11 p.m. EDT, there should be six new videos up on the Millennium Highway website. I don't have the index page updated to reflect these new vids but here are the direct URLs.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/Garden_State_Pkwy.mp4

Follows the Garden State Parkway from its northern terminus at I-87 in New York south to the interchange with the New Jersey Turnpike.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/Del_Mem_Br.mp4

Follows the New Jersey Turnpike south to I-295, then across the Delaware Memorial Bridge and picks up I-95 through Delaware and into Maryland.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/I-895_Md.mp4

The Harbor Tunnel Thruway in Baltimore. Starts on I-95 at the I-695 interchange and then follows I-895 through the tunnel and back onto I-95 south of Baltimore.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/US_48-WV_55.mp4

Starts at VA 55 and I-81 and follows US 48 and VA 55 to the West Virginia line, then WV 55 on to Wardensville. This one contains a special dedication that you won't want to miss. (Hint: It proves that one certain reviled poster on misc.transport.road is a liar).

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/WV_Corridor_H.mp4

Follows WV 55, Corridor H, from Wardensville to Moorefield.

http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos/New_US_35_WV.mp4

EDIT: Fixed URL

This is the new US 35 alignment in West Virginia, from I-64 to the Buffalo Bridge where the route rejoins its old two-lane alignment.

These videos are from my trip last October to the Northeast and are probably the last ones I'll produce from that footage, although I can come up with more if I want to.

Next will be a handful of videos from my trip to Texas over New Year's and possibly some videos from my recent trip to Tennessee (with a bit of Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and western Kentucky thrown in.)

I should have the index page updated in a few days to reflect the presence of these videos. In the meantime, enjoy!

I've started uploading my videos to the Millennium Highway Facebook page before I put them on my Web site.

I have one of I-440 in Arkansas (southern and eastern bypass of Little Rock which features a lot of long, low bridges) and of the Bay Bridge in Maryland currently on that page.

That FB page for the Millennium Highway site is open to the public and anyone on FB can "like" it.

These videos will eventually make their way on the Millennium Highway video page but for now, Facebook is a good place to put them. The uploading and processing is certainly faster than YouTube.

Something to be thankful for ...

...three new Millennium Highway videos.

I-495 and I-95 through Wilmington, Del., and one of the most scenic interstate drives in the eastern United States, I-77 from Bluefield, WV to Wytheville, Va.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, and remember that Millennium Highway (both the Web site and the Facebook page) continue to be viatology-free zones.

Looks like Delaware State Polices LOVES I-95 through Wilmington... good thing I stick to I-495 with the higher speed limits.

hbelkins

Two new videos, both from Peoria, Ill.

I-74 westbound through town and I-474 eastbound bypassing the city.

I'm trying YouTube as a source for my videos again. I have uploaded a bunch of them the last few days. Rather than announce them individually at this point, just use the catch-all link below.

All are available at http://www.youtube.com/user/hbelkins1.

I've found that if you view a video from an individual link, the audio is disabled in a few of them where copyright issues may exist. However, any video viewed from my user home page (or "channel," if you prefer) has the audio intact. Case in point, my new Pittsburgh video. View it individually and you can't hear the Chicago classic "25 or 6 to 4" as the soundtrack, but view it from my user home page and the audio accompaniment is still there.

And the videos are also available on the "Videos" page of http://www.facebook.com/MillenniumHighway.

As always, there is no viatology included in these videos.

As a point of request, could you do the same for announcements too?

I'll try to remember to clip that line when I paste from my Usenet posts. However, since it seems to annoy him, I'll keep doing it in MTR.  :-D

The Millennium Highway video page has changed. I have moved all the videos from 2008 and 2009 to a new page, and the main video page features all my videos from 2010 (produced so far) -- or I should say, it features links to the videos on Facebook and YouTube. I have decided to quit hosting the videos on my server and requiring a download of the video, or an in-browser use of QuickTime, to play them. Instead, I will post links to YouTube and Facebook.

YouTube still has problems with a few of the soundtracks being muted, but that isn't a problem on the Facebook videos.

All my videos from last year, that I've produced so far, are available at http://www.millenniumhwy.net/videos.html. I still have a few more to do from my November trip to the Northeast and then it'll be time to start on this year!

A couple of new videos are available on the Millennium Highway YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/user/hbelkins1) and Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/millenniumhighway) from my trip to the Northeast in November. Unless I come across some other footage I want to turn into a video, I only have one more left from my 2010 travels. It's done, it just needs to be turned into a .mov file and uploaded.

(Just checked the YouTube page and got a huge laugh out of what YouTube has chosen for a thumbnail  :-D )

Three new videos now available: I-391 in Massachusetts, I-691 in Connecticut and I-95 through New York with some bonus coverage of New Jersey.

Unless I find some other footage that I feel is worthy of turning into a video, these are my final efforts from 2010.
