MA-6A starts at US-6 Exit 55 (1C) - AFAIK anyway, I think they finally officially routed it along the old US-6 bridge approach (which Exit 55 feeds into on the Westbound side).

US-6 then ends at MA-6A at Herring Cove, in Provincetown.  Granted, MA-6A ends there as well.   :-D

This is a thread about routes that have an end at a route that began or ended at the former route (route A ends at route B, route B ends at route A). They can be state routes, county routes, U.S. highways, or Interstates. This does not count routes that transform into a different route along the same ROW (like I-76 and NJ 42), but if two routes end at the same point it does.

PA 26 ends at PA 150, which started at PA 26 ~20 miles before.
PA 997 ends at PA 233, which had started at PA 997 ~50 miles before.
I-64 ends at I-664 and I-264, the former of which begun at I-64 ~20 miles before.

Here's a "sort of":
CASR-99 starts a I-5 near Wheeler Ridge, CA
I-5 ends at BC-99 near the USA/Canada International Boundary

Another "sort of":

US 61 ends at I-35 in Minnesota. I-35 ends at MN 61 in Duluth, MN.

I wish that was still true...in US 99 form of course.  CA 99 doesn’t even reach I-5 at it’s north terminus these days and stops at CA 36.

Oddly AZ 202 now actually does start and end at I-10 with the new segment open.  ADOT as of recent decades has been really against highways starting and ending at the same route for some reason.

This is the closest I can get involving Indiana.  IN 64 ends at IL 15, and IL 15 ends at I-64.

Indiana being on a grid doesn't lend itself well to this type of situation.

I have a "sort of but not really" in Wisconsin. I-41 and I-43 basically end at each other in Green Bay, but I think it would be most accurate to say that I-43 ends at I-41 because US-41 continues as a freeway northward for 15 miles. In Greenfield, the interchange between I-41, US-41, I-43, US-45, and I-894 (!) is the last point on I-41's route where it is not multiplexed with another 2di.

So, you could say that if WISDOT wasn't quirky with their concurrences and their interstate termini, this would qualify. For now, it does not.

Not sure if County routes count in this thread but in Walworth County WI Hwy ES ends at Hwy A which originally started at Hwy ES.

One near me ends at another street, but the right-of-way ends at itself.

The one street turns right at a T-intersection, going along the right-of-way at a street that ends at it. It then ends at that same street not long after. While the street doesn't end at itself, the right-of-way certainly does.

So, there doesn't seem to be an abundance of examples on the state/numbered highway level (simply because of the illogical nature of the situation numbering-wise) but we could inject some new life by going micro: this happens all over the place in residential neighborhoods!

This neighborhood alone has two such examples. Here's another one. And another. And finally, a quintessential example; the real-life version of the visual posted upthread!

Which neighborhood has the most examples? Surely there are some out there with 3 or more.
