I read it differently. Not as a guess, but as a statement, as in "this would be 50 or 55 if it was in Texas".

However, it's not in Texas. It's much further north.

Ironically, 55 mph was what my gut initially thought it was, and I suppose I just assumed it had already been guessed.

I've planned specifying the units if ever I won the game. Anyways, I've seen such roads with many speed limits, but I'm going with a safe 50 km/h guess.

50 km/h is the correct answer. Usually, residential areas are 40 km/h in this city, but this neighbourhood seems to be signed all 50. I'm guessing that since this neighbourhood had been around since at least 1956 (the earliest aerial photo I can find of the area), it was grandfathered in with the 50 limit.
