Both states also have I-95, if there's sufficient state-related context to go with it.

that they do!  Plenty of state-named examples of each abound.

Another warning: better save number 98 for Alaska!

With that last one (and the AK need), you've pretty much shot it to where 90 will have to be Mississippi.

Jim

Hopefully this is a safe move: Montana for 85.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

what the Hell?  I go to sleep for 7 hours, and the game falls into a moron vortex?

the 83 is not in the wild.

the same person posts twice, and thinks that "95" spells out "87" and, even worse ... "30" is "96"??  Wait, what???  I deleted that post.

anyway, here's a correct 83 shield from North Dakota.

now, can someone here please count to 87 without sticking his you-know-what in a cheese grater?  (I highly suggest you use New Mexico for that!)

This game is exceedingly tough. I have only been to around 20 states and trying to find a picture with correct state and number together is tricky. If the weather last Sunday near Raton, NM was decent I would have got a US-87 shield but a downpour with thunderstorms meant the pictures would have come out awful so I didn't bother filling memory cards with crappy pictures.

Besides using NM for 87, MS for 90 and AK for 98 are there any other state/number combinations that are limited for this round?

Some partial limitations:  Vermont will be limited to 89, 91, or 93.  Delaware will be limited to 92, 95, or 100.  New Hampshire is limited to 88, 95, or 97.

Let's give 88 to NH and 89 to VT

I think that leaves 90 for MS

agentsteel53

it sure does, and here's a picture that neatly skirts MS's circle problem.

Indiana will be tough too, there's no state highways from 71 to 101, in fact, I think I-94 might be the only avaliable number left unless you can include exit tabs.

I guess that means it's Washington time!

I'd recommend using Nevada for the next one

Remaining options (if only one option logistically possible, I've shown the only possible option)
93: NV, LA, ME, SC
94: IN
95: ME, RI, SC, LA, NV (I wouldn't use LA or NV here)
96: LA, ME, RI
97: LA, ME, SC
98: AK
99: LA, ME, RI, SC
100: DE

There are well known photos floating for I-94, AK 98, and DE 100, so that's good. Louisiana seems like the wild card to me- we can always default to I-95 for one of the eastern states, unless we don't use Nevada for 93- but I'd strongly recommend using a US 93 Nevada, since that seems to open up our options the most.  In theory, the most logical would be to do US-93 NV / I-94 IN / I-95 RI / either ME or LA 96 / either ME/LA/SC 97 / AK 98 / either ME/LA/SC 99 / DE 100, since that maximizes our late game options, but I'm not horribly familiar with the photo coverage in ME/LA/SC/RI

agentsteel53

plenty of Nevada 93.

plenty of state-named shield photos for 94 in Indiana float around, so this will not be a problem.

Are we advancing to 101 through 150 for the next round?  I have some photos ready to post if we are.

any idea how challenging that is?  If it's comparably challenging to 51-100, I'd be up for it.
