need 95 for R. I., otherwise it gets really tough since no one's found a RI 96 shield worth photographing!

Quoteany idea how challenging that is?  If it's comparably challenging to 51-100, I'd be up for it.

Hmmm...off the top of my head Alaska would be impossible and Idaho has exactly 1 option (128, for which I have several pictures if nobody else does), but beyond that it shouldn't be too bad if we're careful (eg Nebraska has to be used early).

we'll have to wildcard Alaska then.  Not too big a deal.  Since we know in advance that Alaska is impossible, we can use the wildcard any time we need during that round - so that'll help us get through the tough stretches.

remember, to post a wildcard, you need to post a route that is clearly not in the 50 states, and has the appropriate route number.

Will this work for 96?  ME 96 only serves Boothbay Harbor.

If approved...

I am quite sure Delaware is the only state that uses the font on the 52.  The 100 looks like standard MUTCD.

okay, back to the beginning we go, with 101.

Hawaii also will have limited choices (state 130 and 139, county 132, 137, and 148).  One of my photos already on the Web takes care of both 132 and 137, but I may need to go into my offline photos to try to get the others.

It should also be noted that the *ONLY* option for Mississippi this go-around is 145.

A summary of limitations for round 3:

AK - no route available
HI - 130 and 139, county 132, 137, and 148
ID - 128 only
MS — 145 only

Pretty sure that 106 from NM doesn't qualify - looks like it's sitting on a table.  Admins, feel free to delete this post if you want to allow that one.

So here's a 106 that takes care of CT.  I believe that this style of outline shields on BGSs is CT-specific.

Yes, I automatically assumed CT when I saw the picture and the presence of US-1 also confirmed my suspicion. This is from someone who doesn't live in the US so if I got it then I'm sure the rest of you can :)

the squares are not unique (Mass has a single gantry, likely installed by a Conn contractor, and between 1958-1961, all the square-shield states had them), but the outline shield US shape is.  Conn is the only state that used outline shields with the 1970 spec "fat shield" shape.

memo to Ausinterkid: your idea of in the wild is ... misguided, at best.  Stop that.

anyway, here is 108.

getting Miss out of the way.  (145 would've been the only state or US choice, but 110 is, as far as I know, on the books as an interstate even to this day!)
