Because they are all boring or just weren't worth the effort:

-  I-10
-  I-20
-  US 1 in Florida
-  Florida's Turnpike
-  I-12

Hot Rod Hootenanny

Please, don't sue Alex & Andy over what I wrote above

I don't think there's really any road I wish I hadn't clinched, but the five clinches I have that I care the least about:

I-238
WI 30
UT 269
SC 576
MD 218
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Similarly.  I'm happy with all my clinches, but I guess I'll pick my most boring:

CO101
CO94
US138
WY213
US6 in Colorado

I-75 (even though it's the Interstate highway that I am the most I have become bored of it, very bored and need some new scenery. Lemme just put it this way, I pretty much know everything about I-75 between Northern Michigan and SE Florida). It was ok to clinch once but I feel like I've done it several times.

I-69 (this one is just the original route as the route south of Indy isn't complete yet so I'll say I have this one and I do now south of Indy as well all the way to Evansville). Southern Indiana has more interesting scenery than the Port Huron to Indy stretch. The stretch between Flint and Port Huron is very dull to me.

M-22 (this is a scenic state highway in Michigan and goes through some pretty areas but it's stuff I've seen all my life).

M-13 (probably done this one by mistake several times as it goes through my hometown of Saginaw at about it's halfway point along it's 73 mile length).

M-138 (another boring highway in the thumb area).

1.  CA 91.  Used to live just south of it; couldn't wait until I was on the offramp!  Afterward, had to take it to useless corporate meetings in Irvine for years.  If I never have to drive an inch of it again, I'll die happy!
2.  CA 86.  That nighttime stench north of Westmorland just makes it so not worthwhile!
3.  I-105 (CA):  The worst of L.A. suburbia combined with airport traffic.
4.  Any of the OC toll roads.  Nice facilities serving places that shouldn't have been built in the first place!
5.  CA 141:  Relinquished right after I clinched it circa 1982.  Guess I'm just bad luck that way!

I-55

5) I-269. Because it's about to be longer and I won't have the clinch anymore.

4) MS-50 (as a passenger). Was hiding from a wasp in the car while my great grandpa drove 20 mph to show us property.

3) I-480 NE (as a passenger). Because the only reason we clinched was because we missed the exit to the baseball field.

2) I-680 NE (as a passenger). Clinched the original 680 before 880 was a thing. Meaning I had only traveled on multiplexed segments of I-29. Now the multiplex doesn't exist. And now I could have had an additional route clinched.

1) I-865 (as a passenger). Because it wasn't as the driver.

Even the Overseas Highway?

No, basically everything north Florida City to the Georgia State Line. Piecing that together over the years was sadistic.

If I had to pick any US highway that goes through urban areas as a city street.

I don't know if I have 5 I didn't want to clinch, but all of these are somewhat less than 100% free will:

1. MN 269- Earlier that day, I was at my Aunt Peggy's funeral in Pipestone. Of course, I could have just drove MN 23 back to I-90 on my way back home to Omaha.
2. MN 267- This was on the way to my grandpa's favorite fishing hole.
3. SD 32- This was on the way from my grandpa's house to my Uncle Louie's west of Watertown, SD.
4. K-136- I needed gas when I was traveling east on US 36 going towards St. Joseph, MO and ultimately to Kansas City.
5. I-190 (IL)- When I lived in the Chicago area, my parents had to pick up my cousin and her now-ex-husband at O'Hare and he insisted on seeing Downtown Chicago.
MORE FUN THAN HUMANLY THOUGHT POSSIBLE

The way I look at it, if it was boring/slow/otherwise unpleasant to clinch, I've clinched it and now know better than to do it again.

I haven't clinched enough highways yet to be able to add the ones I wish I hadn't.

:) Needs more... :sombrero: Not quite... :bigass: Perfect.

I don't know if there are any in particular that I wish I hadn't clinched, but there are a few that had some un-fun sections.

US 421 between Mountain City, Tenn., and Bristol, Tenn./Va., is a torturous mountain road. It and the sections between Hyden and Manchester, Ky., and between Frankfort and New Castle, Ky., were no fun to drive.

Also, US 58 between Damascus and the VA 16 intersection near Mouth of Wilson is a route I don't have any desire to drive again.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.
