I remember seeing these on different roads.  The one that I most remember is on I-24 between Chattanooga and Nashville, TN.

Time zone transition signs do exist. I've seen them at the Alabama-Georgia line on I-59 and I-85,  on the Indiana Toll Road between LaPorte and Saint Joseph Counties, and in various points in the Florida panhandle.

Pretty common out on the Plains where CTZ and MTZ meet.

I've seen one on I-40 Eastbound in Tennessee and on various state highways in the middle of Kentucky, where KY 61 crosses the Central/Eastern boundary several times.

While trying to pinpoint where I-90 crosses from Central to Mountain Time in rural South Dakota (which is right here, against a near-perfect backdrop  ), I stumbled upon a pretty cool resource: https://www.howderfamily.com/blog/interstate-time-zone/

So yes, such a thing does exist and is in fact quite common on interstate highways.

I don't know that I've crossed a boundary on an interstate and NOT seen a sign posted.

Now I'm wondering if there are any 3di's that cross time zone boundaries. If there are, there aren't many.

It appears that there are no 3di's that cross a time zone boundary. Which I guess makes sense, considering time zone lines intentionally avoid splitting metro areas, which is where most 3di's are located. Even so, you'd think there would be an exception or two.

I suppose if Kentucky is ever interested in converting the eastern part of the Western Kentucky Parkway (from I-69 to Elizabethtown) to a 3di interstate then we'd be in business.

Indiana used to only have them on the Toll Road but they're all signed now.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

I definitely did not see a time zone sign crossing into Illinois from Indiana on I-70 the other day. All of the other time zone crossings I've made have been signed as far as I can remember.

The last table on my "welcome to" page, collecting the subset of my sign pictures that are welcome/border signs, shows time zone entry signs.

I-10 just west of Van Horn TX, at the Central/Mountain boundary: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3uQvgsphPkvezKPB7

In last weekend's trip around the Southwest, I was usually very close to the border between Arizona and either New Mexico or Utah. Since they're in the same time zone, there are no time zone change signs at the borders (at least on the roads I was on), yet Arizona chooses not to celebrate Daylight Saving Time, meaning in the summer they are effectively in the Pacific time zone. As a result, the clocks in my car phone were occasionally toggling between the two, depending on what signals they were hearing from the sky. So I was never sure what time it was. It occurred to me that for mobile devices, having at least a tiny time zone offset indicator next to the time would be very helpful.

I know it's somewhat an inheritance from the I-66 proposal, but the I-569 Future Interstate/High Priority Corridor seems weird just giving up at I-165 rather than carrying on to I-65.

When my wife and I drove to St. Louis in 2017, we didn't see any that WERE posted. Drove out via I-64 and drove home via I-70 (well, as far as Columbus before heading northeast to Canton, but there are no time zone boundaries by that point). I recall the car's clock changing when we crossed the Illinois–Indiana state line.

I was told some time ago that the Navajo reservation in northeast Arizona does observe DST -- is this still true?  That might complicate any attempt to sign DST info on highways that cross the reservation (including I-40).

Yes, and then there is Hopi territory inside the Navajo reservation that does not observe DST.

There wasn't much cell service in that whole area, at least not on AZ-264 and the road through Pinon, so I don't know what my clocks were showing, or if they would have shown any detail like that.

No, it's 70. Road work at the time of the capture.
