How bad the Bot hits are on the Forum

Are there any issues in particular that I should be looking out for? So far the site's been running pretty fine for me. I'm using iOS.

Cloudfire will tell you there is a bad gateway (happened once last night) or will verify you aren't a bot occasionally.

The apparent VPN ban bug just hit me as well. I had to shut down my VPN to access this forum. Any way to resolve this, since I 'd rather have the protection I paid for??

DM rschen7754. I talked to them and unfortunately it was going to require me reaching out to my corporate IT guys to fix it. Since that seemed like a bad plan, I left it alone. As we speak though, I'm on the same VPN I was having issues with prior with no issues obviously now.

Agreed.  Please fix this damn bug.  I got it on my home computer and posted this from my phone.

If you DM me the IP address, and it is easy to distinguish the range of IPs in Cloudflare, I'm willing to put it under a captcha rather than blocking entirely. However, unfortunately a lot of bots and spammers use VPN ranges nowadays, so blocking VPNs is pretty standard. Wikipedia sites do not allow editing from VPN without prior authorization, for example.

I just got an "SSL handshake failed" error for the first time.  I had composed a post, gone to [Preview], then tried to post it and got the error.  Fortunately, I was able to navigate back, copy-and-paste, and try again.

I've experienced the "SSL handshake failed" error three times thus far this morning, in addition to a 500 error twice, and then a 521 error that persisted. After looking into the 521 error in relation to Cloudflare and getting nowhere, I instead opted to restart the server. That at least restored the site, but I am sure it is only a matter of time before Cloudflare issues arise again.

I had noticed a few-seconds' lag off and on this morning as well.  Maybe your restart will have fixed that too.

Within the last 5 hours there has been a 7x spike in unique visitors. I blocked a provider in Sweden just now, but I don't think that's enough to fix it.

There's a residential IP in Reno that is hitting us super hard. It's residential so I don't want to block the entire ISP, however. Seeing if it is safe to block just the IP.

I put the country of Vietnam on captcha just now, there were thousands of requests from them and I didn't see any way to filter.

Got a few bad gateway messages in the past week.  What's weird is that when they happen, it will always affect a few threads, with attempts to load them always leading to bad gateway until the issue resolves itself, while other threads load like nothing's wrong.
