Could do that with Oregon as well outside of the major urban boundaries...

Time to bump the 2 month old thread, I think...

While the other errors listed here are pretty minor, Google Map Maker managed to instill a turn restriction on Google Maps, from the cities busiest street to the second busiest! The edit war has been going on a for some time now. Whoever Google picked as reviewers can't seem to grasp their heads around the fact that... satellite imagery can be outdated!  :wow:

I don't get it - why would there ever be a no right turn at that intersection?

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

Previously, what the sat imagery showed was the layout of the intersection. However, back in 2010, the city built splitter islands (among other fixes) between the right turn lane and the through lanes, creating a separate "road" according to Google's classifications. Obviously, you can make a right turn there, and have always been allowed to. Some editors can't grasp their head around the fact that 1. Even 2 year old imagery can be outdated and 2. The locals who travel the streets daily can be trusted.

Ah, and the person who drew the separated ramp also added a useless no right turn restriction preventing the router from doing what it would never actually do?

If you take a look at the Bing Imagery, you can see the new configuration for that intersection.

I realize this is a necropost, but I recently got an opportunity to try editing with GMM for the first time with some changes in my area and I wanted to use an existing thread if possible.

My first change was the extension of KY SR 1017 along Aero Parkway in Florence, Kentucky. As you can see if you look at Google Maps, it's been approved. I cited that it's been signed in the field and is listed in the State Primary Routes Database as KY 1017.

I just went in again and added the extension of KY 717 over the former part of KY 1017 aka Turfway Road, including a short multiplex with a still-current part of 1017. I did the same thing and cited the database, and noted that it has been signed in the field. I suspect this, too will be approved.

EDIT: I tried to include a map of the area in question, but the short link did not work. I've removed that link.

Did the long link work?  You can still post that using the URL tags:

I do this all the time when I reference my own website...

It did. I didn't think of using it that way, and the short link is now working.

Here's the area I edited: http://goo.gl/maps/ZAQR9
