Alex

Can you imagine a U.S. highway traveling a road like that nowadays?

Shifting to Mobile County 96, just a couple of blocks north of Mobile County 41, which doubles as an old stretch of U.S. 45, which resembles the one in the above photograph (next to a former railroad line).

Ah, the open skies, wind at my back, warm sun on my... wait, where the hell am I?!
As a matter of fact, I do own the road.
Raise your what?

I see your CT US 202 and I raise a MA US 202:

The bottom sign is an error. The state is Massachusetts yet there is a NJ style shield!

heh I know that 27 sign well.  I had a 20 like it, and restored it ... breaking three drill bits in the process.  Those signs are made of 14 gauge tool steel or something!  So I traded the 20, and the 27 that I never even attempted to do anything with, to a friend of mine.

there's the 20, before I did anything to it.  Somewhere I've got the "after" photo.  Somewhere.

looks like state-ends.com does not allow hotlinking, so I changed the image to a link ... click on the link to see the image; it's a green guide sign with US-31 and M-20 on it.
