South Carolina CONN routes now posted
« on: June 25, 2013, 08:55:48 PM »

South Carolina has now explicitly begun posting CONN routes.  In the past they would post "TO" banners for the route you were headed towards.

US 29/SC 20 CONN in Williamston - http://goo.gl/maps/7OLWo
At the other end - http://goo.gl/maps/KWRs9  and http://goo.gl/maps/JNu8J

Here is a SC 20 CONN that runs 270 degrees around the SC 20-252-284 intersection - http://goo.gl/maps/LZyRk and http://goo.gl/maps/BmCYY

It appears only really recent GMSVs show this.  Other connectors I am aware of have 2007-2009 GMSV and do not show any CONN postings...

That second one should really be signed to SC 252.

There are several CONN routes all over the state, including US 15/521 CONN in Sumter and US 25/276 CONN (unsigned) in Travelers Rest.  SCDOT GIS/Mapping site has all the city/county maps and identifies them... most of which are still unsigned.

The connector routes in Columbia are unsigned as of last year as well. US 52 Spur in Charleston has not been signed the few times I have been there either.

US 52 Spur has not been signed back to at least 1974 when I first lived there...

In fact, south of US 52 Spur, US 52 itself has never been well-signed.

Another CONN posting, but differently.  This is the US 301-521 CONN in Alcolu.  Once I-95 was built through here, the connector road stopped directly connecting to US 521.

This is the first time I've seen a CONN route posted on a secondary marker.

I looked that on the Clarendon county map, it sure enough marks it as such.  http://dbw.scdot.org/GISMapping/pdfs/County/Clarendon_County.pdf
