Alaska State Route 11 is the designation for Dalton Highway extending 414.21 miles north from SR 2 (Elliott Highway) near Livengood to Deadhorse in the census designated place of Prudhoe Bay. Paralleling the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the generally unpaved road serves operations at the Prudhoe Bay oil field.
Dalton Highway travels northwest from Elliott Highway to cross the Yukon River near Smoothface Mountain. SR 11 parallels the Ray River northwest from there to the Fort Hamlin Hills. The state route runs between Caribou Mountain and Olsons Lake ahead of the Kanuti River.
The Artic Circle is 115 miles northwest of SR 2 along Dalton Highway. Beyond there is the settlement of Prospect Creek along the Jim River. SR 11 converges with the Middle Fork of the Koyukuk River by Cathedral Mountain at the census designated place of Coldfoot. Continuing along the river, Wiseman is next, followed by Sukakpak Mountain. Traversing Atigun Pass in the Endicott Mountains, Dalton Highway crosses the Continental Divide.
SR 11 turns northeast from near Toolik Lake across Artic plains to the Sagavanirktok River. Dalton Highway and the river head north to the unincorporated community of Sagwon. Entering the unincorporated community of Deadhorse, SR 11 concludes at E Lake Colleen Drive.
