All American Freeway / Owen Drive

All American Freeway (SR 1007) branches northwest from Owen Drive 6.32 miles to Fort Bragg. A six lane commercial boulevard, Owen Drive (SR 1007) arcs southeast 2.96 miles to Business Loop I-95/U.S. 301, and another 2.22 miles from the Crown Complex to SR 87 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway) and Wilmington Highway (SR 2337).

A contract for the construction of the Owen Drive Freeway bridges spanning Raeford Road (U.S. 401 Business) was awarded in Winter 1975.1 The first section of the All American Freeway opened within the first two weeks of November 1977.2 The south end of the freeway, from Owen Drive to Morganton Road (SR 1404) by Cross Creek Mall, opened the week of December 18, 1977.3
