Two segments of County Road 4A exist in northern Escambia County. A 1.85 mile branch angles northwest from U.S. 29 (Century Boulevard) to an east-west branch of CR 4A along State Line Road. The longer of the two loops 6.01 miles west from U.S. 29 in Century to County Road 4 at Byrneville.
A third segment of County Road 4A, totaling 2.52 miles, exists in Okaloosa County along a rural highway linking Florida 4 with Florida 189 near Baker.
