Eastbound Half Mile Road advances one mile from the roundabout with Bayou La Batre Irvington Highway (CR 19) to Padgett Switch Road (CR 23) south and the CR 39 north.

Providing part of a four lane corridor joining Padgett Switch Road north from Bayou La Batre with Interstate 10, CR 39 opened to traffic between Half Mile Road and U.S. 90 in June 2009.

Upon completion of County Road 39 north to Irvington, the flasher at CR 23 (Padgett Switch Road) south was replaced with traffic lights.
