Traveling 9.39 miles, County Road 99A traverses a mix of forest land and agricultural areas between Pineville and County Road 99 near Oak Grove. The north Escambia County route follows Arthur Brown Road between Pineville Road and State Road 97 (Atmore Highway).
Pineville Road leads south from the Alabama state line to the settlement of Pineville and west end of County Road 99A. Pineville Road is unpaved southward to CR 97A at Enon, including at the intersection with CR 99A east here.
