There are multiple branches of County Road 200A designated from Ocala northward to Lawtey in Central Florida. The longest section runs 14.14 miles north from U.S. 301/441 (N Pine Street) in Ocala along NW 20th Street and Old Jacksonville Road to U.S. 301 at Citra. Prior to 1965, when a new four lane highway was completed to the west, this leg of CR 200A to Oak, Anthony and Sparr was U.S. 301. The American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) approved a request by the Florida State Road Department for the relocation of U.S. 301 on October 2, 1965. The same application included redesignating the old route as U.S. 301 Alternate. This was denied with correspondence from AASHO to the State Road Department on October 25, 1965:

They [AASHO Executive Committee] denied the portion of the application that pertaining to the "Establishment of an Alternate U.S. Route 301" on the old route between Citra and Ocala. The committee felt that the old route should be marked "Old 301". This is in keeping with the implication that an "Alternate" route is equal to the facility which it has replaced when in reality it is not. The traveling public has grown to assume that an Alternate Route provides an equal facility in order to divide the volume of traffic through the area. We understand from the American Automobile Association that you have already marked the routes in question. We respectfully request that you revise the markings on the old route to conform with the action taken by the Executive Committee.

There are two segments of County Road 200A in Alachua County, neither of which is signed. The southern section loops 1.64 miles east from U.S. 301 through the unincorporated community of Island Grove along a combination of SE 201st Terrace, SE 219th Avenue and SE 203rd Street. The northern branch parallels U.S. 301 to the west for 1.28 miles along SE 221st Street to SR 20 in the city of Hawthorne.

Also in Alachua County, CR 1469 north from SR 26 to Earleton and west to U.S. 301 and CR 1471 at Shenks was formerly Florida Secondary Road 200A. CR 200A branching 4.91 miles northwest from U.S. 301 at Waldo to CR 225 near Louise was renumbered to CR 1475.

Within Bradford County, CR 200A forms a 2.30 mile long loop to the west of U.S. 301 into the city of Lawtey. CR 200A follows Grove Street north and Lake Street east to U.S. 301 across from CR 225.
